She led the race, fell, and got back up and crossed that finish line!
All athletes were winners, and to exemplify this,  Shurkura, a recent graduate
from Godby, demonstrated TRUE character as she completed the 200M run.

Leading the race, she tripped and fell, which
put her behind, and didn't allow her to finish
first. But in my opinion, she showed what true
spirit really is - she got back up and finished -
despite the physical and emotional pain she
    had to be feeling.

Her knees bled, and she limped around the rest
of the day, but she never complained about her
ordeal, just smiled with all of the
athletes as they receive their various awards.

Shurkura, we're proud to have you in our delegation!
